Blue Mages, as their name implies, focus on Blue Magic, a special subset of Magic that allows them to use attacks otherwise exclusive to enemies. While an odd choice, Blue Mages often have a wide range of usefulness due to the varied spells they gain. Blue Mages usually learn Blue Magic by having enemies (or occasionally, another Blue Mage ally) use it on them, but some have other methods to learn their magic. Blue Mages benefit greatly from the ability to Control monsters, reducing the chance involved in waiting for a monster to use their skill on the Blue Mage.
Beyond this, Blue Mages vary in equipment and physical prowess. They are not as weak as other Mage classes in terms of attack or defense, and are usually capable fighters. Of course, their true strength is their magic.

Goblin Punch: Goblin - Deals damage based on Weapon Attack, varied positively or negatively.
Magic Hammer: Red Cap - MP Damage
Acid: Flankind - Inflicts a random status ailment which includes Disable and Stop.
Blowup: Bomb - Deals Fire damage to surrounding units, then unit faints.
Mighty Guard: Icedrake - Increases Weapon Defense and Magic Resistance of self or an adjacent unit. Inflicts MRes UP and WDef UP statuses.
Guard-Off: Firewyrm - Lowers Weapon Defense and Magic Resistance of target. Inflicts WAtk DOWN and MRes DOWN statuses.
Dragon Force: Thundrake - Increase Weapon and Magic Attack of self or an adjacent unit. Inflicts WAtk UP, MPow UP, WDef UP, and MRes UP statuses.
Night: Lamia - Inflicts Sleep on all units on the battlefield except the caster.
Twister: Lilith - Halves targets current HP.
LV3 Def-Less: Bugkind- Lowers Weapon Defense and Magic Resistance of units whose level is divisible by 3 with 100% accuracy. Inflicts WDef DOWN and MRes DOWN statuses.
Matra Magic: Toughskin - Switches HP and MP of target. Fatal if MP is 0.
Poison Claw: Red Panther - Damage and may inflict Poison.
Hastebreak: Coeurl - Inflicts Slow if the target is at normal speed or inflicts Stop if the target is bestowed with Haste.
Bad Breath: Malborokind - Inflicts five of the following status ailments, chosen at random: Blind, Confuse, Frog, Poison, Silence, Sleep, Slow.
Stare: Floateye - Inflicts Confuse on all units facing the caster with 100% accuracy.
Roulette: Ahriman - Instantly KOs a unit chosen at random on the battlefield. Must have Auto-Life in order to learn successfully. Element: Dark
Drain Touch: Zombie - Deals Dark damage to target, and heals HP equal to damage dealt.
LV? S-Flare: Vampire - Heavy Dark damage to all units on the battlefield whose ones digit in their level is the same as the caster; includes the caster!
White Wind: Sprite - Heals HP equal to the current HP of the caster.
Angel Whisper: Titania - Heals HP and bestows Auto-Life. Element: Holy.
Reaction Abilities
Damage MP: Converts HP damage to MP damage. Will not work if there is no MP to spare. Overflow does NOT get taken from HP
Support Abilities
Learning: Be able to learn the above Blue Magic skills by being struck with them in combat. Cannot be taught by Morphers and Blue Mages that are allies.
